Another remarkable fact about Georgian wine is its role in cultural and religious traditions. Wine has been central to Georgian hospitality and celebrations for centuries. It is also deeply intertwined with Georgian Orthodox Christianity, with many monasteries producing their own wines. Georgian wine is more than a drink. It represents national identity and pride.
